Is the age of the Earth (4.6billion years) also the age of the Solar System?

"The age of the Solar System" is specifically based off of estimates for the age of the sun, based on standard star dating practices (hydrogen vs helium composition).

It also depends upon how exactly you define "the solar system" or rather "a planetary system" in general. Does it need full formed planets on a stable orbit? Or could it just be a protoplanetary disc and parent star to be a planetary system?

The planets of the solar system did take some time to form after that, as the density bands of the protoplanetary accretion disc around the sun segregated and gravitationally collapsed upon themselves.

Then, of course, it took time for the planets to stand the test of time. Many were slung to interstellar space, many were on crash trajectories with each other, many were on crash trajectories with the sun.

Those which survive are those which had stable orbits.

In fact, part of lunar formation theory, we think a planetoid struck a primordial Earth.

Scientists can distinguish "the age of Earth" from the "age of the solar system" to be such that:
Earth is 4.54 billion years old
and the Sun is 4.60 billion years old.

So that is a difference of 60 million years required to finally form a stable third planet from the sun...not necessarily habitable yet.
