Very cloudy water in a 55 gallon aquarium, but I just did a 50% water change on Friday?
I put in brand new filters as well. I vaccumed the gravel and as I said above, replaced 50% of the water. I tried using a product to help counteract the cloudiness but it seems to have gotten worse. Do I just need to change the water again?
Just leave it be. From now on do a 25% water change and change filter in between water changes. Your tank will be cloudy until it builds up the needed bacteria again.
Don't worry! I did the same thing when I got my first 55gal.!! Before I knew it I sucked about 60%. It took about a week and a half before it got going again. One thing I did was go to the pet shop and ask for some of the bacteria in their filters to bring home to my tank. They can do that, but make sure there are no sick fish first!
