Question about updating my tropical fish tank?
I am thinking of upgrading to a fluval roma 200 aquarium. My question is about the aquarium cabinet. I currently have a jewel 125 cabinet (designed for 125l tank). Would i be able to use the cabinet for the new tank (even though it might go a little over the edge) or will i need to buy a new cabinet too to support the extra weight. It seems a very sturdy cabinet but dont want it caving in with the new tank lol

If it's a little over the edge, then No, it's not recommended, (not that you absolutely can't)
The whole aquarium's bottom should fit within the base.
That tank has roughly 450 pounds of water in it. Let's say 500 lbs with the tank.
If an area isn't on the base, the weight will be more concentrated in the other area. That's a more pressure to the other part of the base, and you probably don't' want that in the long run.

If you look at the picture, like most of the aquarium, the bottom's got that black frame surrounding the edge. So that means that frame/edge is now supporting the whole 500 lbs. If part of this edge is not touching the base, the pressure will be distributed to the other area, and you might be worrying for the rest of your tank's life.
But to be fair, with today's tempered glass, I think it will hold if it's just a little.... But why risk?
