anybody having problems with a BioGuard salt water swimming pool unit.?
My was put in this May 06 --three new cells later it is still not working. Any information
I'm not familliar with the Bio Guard unit, but they all work essentially the same way. Having 3 cells toast on you is unusual. As long as it wasn't due to clogging material in the cell itself by material getting past the filter, say by running on recirculate ( if a sand filter) or a hole in a cartridge filter and not absolutely horrendous water chemistry, the only thing that would be causing that is a faulty circuit board on the controller. I've come across Chlormatics ( similar) that were an issue that way and produced the same result in that short a time frame. Ask your dealer to swap out the controller and cell together. If it's still an issue, I'd say that Bio Guard has some quality controll problems they need to adderess. In that case I'd be bugging your dealer for a refund or ask if he deals in Aqua Rite. If he does, grab it. I've never once had any sort of issue with them in the 5 years I worked for a company that sold them. If you're interested, here's a link http://www.goldlinecontrols.com/AquaRite.aspx
Ther's an Australian made unit, can't remember the name, that was starting to appear in North America, just as I was leaving the business, avoid it like the plague. We tested one out and found it more trouble from a home owner and service guy's point of view than 10 bulls in a china shop.
No matter what you do, I'd still stick with salt. They are great.
